Daily journal January 8, 2001, Ice Hotel in Canada, 60 minutes report last night, hype

The news hype needs to be tempered with fact but I have found some worthiness of

accounts by 60 minutes raising questions and I watch it whenever it is convenient for me. Last night they did a report on Internet Gambling and a $4 billion per year sports chance industry, that is sports, as a whole. Three American citizens set up an Internet gambling casino, World Sports Gambling in the small island of Antigua in the Caribbean and have become wealthy taking bets but now are fugitives and one has returned home to test the system which Janet Reno said was illegal. The general opinion is that the law should be amended especially since many states now have their legal lottery gambling commission.

Consider prayer that we can communicate directly with God, it is a great privilege

A new device which seems obvious and possible for a number of years is a camera that is battery, that is swallowed and will record on videotape outside the body the condition of your entire intestinal tract from your stomach though out, or your mouth for that manner, to your small intestine and colon then passes out and is disposable. This is being used now to test for bleeding, blockages and many other intestinal tract disorders successfully and the exact location can be identified at all times during the eight hour movement with the recording being on a machine outside the body. I applaud this device as a money and lifesaver to say the least. I'm sure we well hear more about this marvelous application of technology in the medical world that has a look at the problem before treating in future.

Wal-Mart is accused by 60 minutes reporting on their stonewalling in court cases where their customers were attacked in their parking lots and in their stores especially those as being shot by BB guns where guns and ammunition are stored in public together. Judges were quoted as saying that Wal-Mart was uncooperative in supplying data about their safety of their operations. Many judges have held them in contempt of court and imposed heavy fines on Wal-Mart for their clandestine activities related to court cases when sued.

They are accused of carrying counterfeit clothing in their sacred $165 billion per annum operation of Wal-Mart Stores Corporation headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. USA.

Also 60 minutes is accused of Catholic bashing but I disagree considering them to be pro Catholic and pro Pope. A recent report of the Catholic Church as cashing out on their hospitals for about one hundred million dollars each and perhaps some have accused the Catholics of denying women their rights to free choice. If there is anything good about the Catholic Church with all their false doctrine and idolatry, it may be the impression that they oppose abortion when really I doubt if they really do care in the long run.

A prayer of praise unto the lord God almighty who cares for us and provides for us.

In Canada a hotel shown made designed like an igloo in Eskimo country with 29 rooms maintained at 28 degrees inside but it melts in May so next year they will build one twice as large. Consider the Season's and the miracle of ice and of heat, the water and sun, the wind and the waves. Consider God is in control who created all this that our eyes see and our ears hear, that our hands feel and our nose smells, consider all the food that we taste.

Know that there is a God in Heaven that can see us and hear us and that is available to us.
